  6.         /k                Toggles a drive light when CDROM access occures.
  7.         /p:[seconds]    Increases the packet recieve timeout.

  10.         /x                Tests the SPX connection.

  12. When there is a technical support problem with CDLINK:
  13.  
  14.     1)    Get the version. This can be done by typing CDUSER -v.
  15.     2)    Get the DOS version. Have them type VER at the DOS prompt.
  16.     3)    Version of Netware.
  17.     4)    AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS
  18.     5)    Find out if there is a bridge, brouter, or router installed.
  19.     
  20.     All these questions MUST be answered in order to determine the 
  21.     problem.

  24. Most frequent problems:
  25.  
  26. 1    P) Receiving error 203 when attempting to load CDSERVER
  27.     S) Version 1.4 fixes this problem.
  28.  
  29. 2    P) CDUSER when trying to connect to a CDSERVER or when running
  30.         CDUSER /D the machine appears to lock.
  31.     S) Have them wait 15 minutes when CDUSER is in the "locked" state.
  32.         If CDUSER returns to DOS and reports the server could not be found,
  33.         have them re-run CDSETUP and edit the network addresses.  The 
  34.         reason for this is: Netware will take at least 30 seconds per
  35.         invalid network address entry. Since there are 12 entries in 
  36.         CDSETUP, with 2 broadcasts per entry the total timeout may be
  37.         around 12 minutes. If they don't know the network addresses
  38.         on the network, have them find the person who set it up. Other
  39.         terms for network addresses are: segment, network, subnet. Make
  40.         sure they have version 1.4 or greater.

  42. 3    P) CDUSER cannot find any CDSERVERS
  43.     S) Make sure they have version 1.4 or greater
  44.  
  45. 4    P) When trying to access a CDROM drive the connection dies or they
  46.         recieve a message containing the message 'Abort, Retry ...'
  47.         every time they connect.
  48.     S) This could be due to SPX connection failures. Have them load CDSERVER
  49.         and make a connection with CDUSER. Before accessing the drive
  50.         have them run CDUSER /x. If SPX connections are failing, it will
  51.         report this. The course of action is to contact the person who 
  52.         setup or maintains the network or call Novell. If SPX connections
  53.         appear to be OK make sure they provide the information above for
  54.         both CDUSER and CDSERVER. CDUSER /x is undocumented and used only
  55.         for testing purposes and is only in versions 1.4 and up.

  57. 5    P) CDUSER works with some CDs and not others.
  58.     S) The CD may not allow a CD to be shared. Have them provide the
  59.         name, date, and publisher of the CD.
  60.  
  61. 6)    P)    Copy and xcopy do not work.
  62.     S)    Use version 1.5 or greater.
  63.  
  64. 7)    P)    CDUSER works most of the time but they recieve the message
  65.         'CD-Server not responding' now and again.
  66.     S)    Have them increase the packet timeout with version 1.5 by
  67.         adding the switch /p:20 to CDUSER.
